Day 5
On our way to Braubach, we cruised along the Rhine River and saw many castles and villages. Along the hills you can see vineyards on steep slopes, this allows farmers to take advantage of sun and heat. Vineyard terracing practices date back to the 5th century BCE. I really loved sitting on the boat and relaxing. We took countless pictures before it started to rain. In Braubach, the rain soaked us on our way to have lunch. Pork Schnitzel was served with salad and fries. After lunch, we took a tour of the Romanesque Marksburg Castle. Our tour guide showed us around the kitchen, knights room, chapel, lords room, garden and torture chamber.
