Bonn Markt

Day 2

In Germany the breakfast is simple. It usually consists of toast, butter, jam and coffee. After my breakfast, Dorothea showed me to my bus stop and to Central Station in Bonn. Our guide walked my class to New AIB our school in Bonn. In class we all introduced ourselves by saying our professional aspirations. For Lunch we explored more of the center of Bonn and had food in the Markt. Around the Markt you can find food, grocery stores, clothing stores and businesses.

In the evening, some of my classmates and I hit up the bar for our first German beer. Pictured below is my very first Kölsch, a light beer that originates in Cologne, a city north of Bonn. Besides the Rhine River we sat at some benches in the Biergarten Alter Zoll enjoying the breeze and conversation.

Day 3

On the third day of class, we took a historical tour of Bonn. We started our Tour in Munsterplatz near the Ludwig van Beethoven bronze statue. Behind Beethoven's statue, the yellow building is Hauptpostamt. On the right Bonner Munster, is a Romanesque cathedral that dates to the 11 and 13 centuries. This church was built on the spot where St. Helen mother of Constantine built a shrine for Roman martyrs Cassius and Florentius in the 4th century C.E. Another great Bonn attraction is the Haribo store created in 1920 by Hans Riegel. Haribo comes from the first two letters of "HAns", "RIegel" and "BOnn". Day three ended with a BBQ were I got to meet other students studying at AIB.
